Everyones opinion?
Everyones opinion?
LCrawford brought up something I have wondered about for a long time now. How does everyone else feel about other divisions running transbrakes and electric/air shifters in what was once footbrake class?
I think most of you know my opinion but my wife usually tells me my opinion doesnt count.

I am definitely not a footbraker, but I don't think transbrakes, 2 steps and elec. shifters should be allowed in a F.B. class. If you want to run that stuff run Pro. Just my .02 anyway.

Re: Everyones opinion?
As I said in the other post, I don't know why div 2 is allowing the transbrake in footbrake and no other div is. When I was still footbraking, had that happened then, I probally would not mind since I ran pro too, while not having any electronics other than the msd box, but would not think that it was right. A true footbrake class is supossed to be a no electronics class(no brake or automatic shifter). But Lee has a interesting point as to what will happen when the Summit winner from div 2 runs the other div winner. That rule change went into effect last year for Div 2, did they allow in the bracket finals and Summit super series run off too?

MOPAR OR NO CAR
Re: Everyones opinion?
In 2008 when Chad Dotson and myself went to Rockingham to the Summit Finals I made it to 4 cars and Chad won it all (beating me on his way) and I am not sure but I dont think any of the final 4 cars were running transbrakes, but they were allowed.

Yea, after I posted that I was thinking that it may have been before last season when that rule change was made to allow the transbrakes. I know you or Chad was not running one and 1 of the other 2 was probally not from div 2 either.JCNorris wrote:In 2008 when Chad Dotson and myself went to Rockingham to the Summit Finals I made it to 4 cars and Chad won it all (beating me on his way) and I am not sure but I dont think any of the final 4 cars were running transbrakes, but they were allowed.

Re: Everyones opinion?
In my opinion the FOOTBRAKE class says it all. It should be foot braked not trans braked. This Box and No box stuff has to be some trick to get more cars involved cause it goes against the origional class title. The shifter doesn't bother me since the class never said Footbrake and manual shift. Some people could use both hands on the wheel......LOL.
I guess there was no race Saturday since there is no mention of one. Rain?

Just 2 clear it up division 9 is the only 1 left that hasn't changed the rule. I think that rule came from up north. It doesn't matter 2 me either but I'm going use what the rules let me. Maybe I will come 2 greer and try foot feeding, I haven't done it in along time but it should be like riding a bike. Can yall run electric shifters?
