Post by S Maddox »

Aight come on everybody lets get the key boards back out and just quit reading everyones posts. So what all winter projects does everyone have(can be 2 do with racing or anything) I know there is a lot of projects goin on at Maddox Race Cars right now but im not gonna spill the beans on any just let people tell what they r doing thereselves. All i can say is as far as i go i havent even opened the back door on the trailer since i loaded up at Carolina.

Also i wanna give Mike Greer props on the track and everything he done last offseason. Hope 2 maybe see a few more improvements thru out the pits/parking but other than that i think we have one of the nicest tracks in the carolinas now!!

Shane, nothing major taking place over here. I am switching to a dana over the winter but all that should change is how many gears I have to buy! :) I have pondered the thought of how to stretch this thing to about 225 inch wheelbase and make it run 4's but I have not found a way that fits the budget.

Well we are looking forward to seeing everyone at the banquet and then counting the days till raceday. Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas!!!!

Well guys, about the only thing that I have going on this winter, is that Jimmy at Hall's Competition is building me a spare transmission.
I'm going to try to get the crew at Maddox Race Cars to put me in a new back window.
Everybody have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Got mine in the garage sanding and repainting.Painted the hood satin flatblack not sure i like the flat black.May just paint it white like it's always been.Engines at the shop ready to go on the dyno been curious how much power the little motor makes.Hopefully i can get the Maddox crew to make me some new sheet metal.

I got the motor out rebuilding it since I burnt some pistons inhaling the laughing gas on a real bad tuneup last summer and just limped by the rest of the year. Cooks got the glide to give it some TLC. Got a sheet of .040 brushed satin aluminium from Maddox Race cars yesterday to replace the tubs with something a little taller. Higher speeds and bigger tires got the slicks starting to rub the tubs in high gear. If I got any money left after that I'd like to get a helmet with a removal device, a cool air system and radios. Having to wear all the safety gear required today gets me stuck in the car buckled in and it gets so hot inside the helmet the glasses fog and you can't breath, then you can't find your help or turn your head to look around with the full face helmet and neck supports. Fat old Joe be thinking those once creature comforts are becoming almost mandatory. Merry Christmas everyone

Well I'm trying to keep the mice from nesting in my big Ford engine. He was sneaking up the header past an open exhaust valve and hiding rat poison in the #4 cylinder. I kid you not and have pics to prove it. I've got the valves backed off and the headers taped up waiting on that poison to kick in. Other than that mines up on jackstands waiting on springtime!

I've got the Sisk family big block in the shop for some new valve springs and a little freshen up, hoping we don't slow it down any as good as it was running last year.

I want to wish my racing family a Mery Christmas!
