I always notice the lack of guard rails and you don't see any safety equipment anywhere. I actually remember racing in my teens while in HS at Thompson Dragway in Ohio running a 55 Ford and there were no rails and there was no tree. They flag started us. When I moved here in 1982 there was no electronic throttle devices, delay boxes or reaction timers and when I started racing again in 1988 they had all that plus buss boxes for running index classes. I hated that. But with all that said a delay box sure helps us senior citizens bracket race........LOL. Wish everyone a safe and Happy New Year.
